In the Spring of 1981, Karen Christensen recorded an interview with her father Andrew (Andy) Christensen (download), as part of a paper on successful aging for a psychology course. Andy was born and raised in Denmark, before emigrating to the United States in the early 1900s. This is a copy of the surviving portion of that interview, conducted at their home on Cherry Street in Geneva, NY, with additional commentary by his wife, Elizabeth. (Elizabeth was also born in Denmark, and came to the U.S. at a very early age). The file is a 30.7 megabyte MP3. Thanks to Karen for the interview and her son-in-law Mark for digitizing it.
