- 1 cup quick cooking oats
- 1 1/2 cup boiling water
- cream
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 6 tbs oleo
Cake:
Mix and cool cooking oats and boiling water.
Add cream, white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, shortening, eggs, flour, soda, salt and cinnamon to cooled oats.
Bake 350 degree oven
Topping
1 cup brown sugar, evaporated milk, coconut, chopped nuts, oleo
Spread on baked cake + toast
