- 1/2 lb butter
- 1/2 cup crisco
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 tsp mace
- 3 cups + 5 tbs flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla flavoring
- 1 tsp almond
- 5 eggs
Cream butter and crisco. Add sugar and mace. Beat well and add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add alternately with milk. Add vanilla flavoring and almond.
Bake in 2 pans 1 hr and 20 min at 350 degrees.
